The Zamir Chorale of Boston, specializing in music from the Jewish traditions, will hold auditions on Sunday, September 26th from 7-10pm. The auditions are by appointment only and must be scheduled in advance by emailing manager@zamir.org. Candidates must have excellent vocal quality, the ability to sight-read music, and previous choral experience. In addition to the audition, candidates are required to attend open rehearsals at Hebrew College on September 14th and 21st before auditions.

The Zamir Chorale of Boston, under the direction of founder and Artistic Director Joshua Jacobson, will be performing concerts in the Greater-Boston area and throughout the Northeast. A typical season comprises 10-15 performances. The repertoire includes choral gems by Jewish composers from Salamone Rossi to Yehezkel Braun, Handel's Judas Maccabaeus, and music by Israeli and American composers, as well as liturgical, folkloric and popular pieces.

Rehearsals are held weekly from September through early June on Tuesdays at Hebrew College, from 7:15 to 10:00 p.m.

The 50-member adult chorale, dubbed a "virtuoso outfit" by the Boston Globe and recognized by American Record Guide as "America's foremost Jewish choral ensemble," has remained committed to the highest quality performance of music spanning thousands of years, four continents, and a variety of styles, both popular and classical.

The Zamir Chorale performs throughout the United States, and has also toured Europe and Israel, appearing with the Jerusalem Symphony and Israel Philharmonic Orchestras under Zubin Mehta and Daniel Barenboim. Zamir was featured at the United Nations for the first universal observance of the International Day of Commemoration in memory of the victims of the Holocaust and appeared at the Democratic National Convention. Zamir currently has nineteen recordings on the HaZamir label, ranging from Baroque masterworks to seasonal celebrations.
